Washington County leads in Maine volleyball

Volleyball has been played in Washington County since the seventies, but the Maine Principals Association didn’t sanction the sport until 1997.

Volleyball was primarily a sport played by Downeast Athletic Conference teams and it took several years before it started to grow on a statewide basis.
