Both Machias Area Little League teams—the 9-10 year olds and 11-12 year olds—have made it to the District I finals.

The minor district playoffs began on June 26 with Machias shutting out Ellsworth 10-0.

Two games were played on June 28 at Calais. Machias improved to 2-0 with a 17-5 win in the Border City while Acadian of Bar Harbor got by Ellsworth at Demeyer Field by a score of 6-4.

Machias advanced in the winner’s bracket in a game played at Bar Harbor.
