The Down East Community Hospital (DECH) Auxiliary has provided the service of a gift shop since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. The auxiliary’s “shop” began as a gift case, built for the auxiliary by Middle River Mill of Marshfield and located in the hospital lobby. The case has recently been updated and is still in use today, across from the lab, not far from its original location.
