There’s a new lieutenant in town, thanks to approval by the Machias selectboard on June 12 to promote Machias Patrol Officer Tim Mace to that position.

Mace began his law enforcement career with the Machias Police Department in 2013.  He left the MPD to join the Washington County Sheriff’s Dept. in 2016 but returned to the Machias PD as a patrol officer in 2021.
