Rhonda (Smith) Reynolds

July 30, 1959 - November 13, 2021

Machias - Rhonda (Smith) Reynolds, 62, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, after a long illness with family and friends by her side.

Rhonda was born July 30, 1959, in Fort Riley, Kansas to Thomas and Carol Ann Smith. She graduated from Machias Memorial High School and the University of Maine at Machias.

Rhonda married Steven Reynolds on June 7, 1980. They were blessed with a son, Scott F. Reynolds.

After graduation, Rhonda worked for the law firm of Frank Hallissey and Mary Jane Good gaining both as lifelong friends. After the retirement of family members, she stepped in to continue the business of Parlin Flowers, keeping the family business of her in-laws going strong since 1943. Rhonda was very involved with the community, brightening many special occasions with beautiful flowers, delicious baked goods, and her special Christmas wreaths adorning front doors far and wide. She will especially be remembered for her kindness and generosity, always thinking of others before herself.

Rhonda is survived by her mother, Carol Ann Smith; her loving son Scott Reynolds and girlfriend Suzanne Fenton; her sisters Linda Patryn, and husband Steve and Vickie Smith; brothers-in-law Donald Reynolds and wife Lani, Alan Reynolds and wife Laura; nephews Mark O. and Jake; nieces Michelle, Kate, Ali, and Jordan; Two special aunts, Patsy Parlin and Juanita Arey. She will also be missed by her beagle, Odie, and Baby Cat.

She was predeceased by her husband Steven, her father Tommy, in-laws Fred and Norma, brothers Peter and Mark, nephew Johnathan Foss and brother-in-law Tom Reynolds.

The family would like to express our thanks to the doctors and staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, especially Dr. Simon Robson who is truly an angel on Earth.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the Pellon Center in Machias. Please join us to remember Rhonda with stories and refreshments. No flowers please, just your memories of all the beautiful flowers Rhonda brought forth to brighten others’ lives over the years.
