On August 7 at approximately 2:13 p.m. the Washington County Regional Communications Center (RCC)  received a 911 call from an off-duty Deputy that had come upon a serious two-vehicle crash on Rt 192 in Northfield in the vicinity of mailbox 1580. The RCC dispatched the Machias ambulance, Machias Fire Department as well as additional Deputies to the scene.
