Local runner, Eric Mauricette of Grand Lake Stream, ran away from the rest of the field to win the 8th annual Fourth of July race for Grand Lake Stream.

Mauricette led a small field of 45 runners and walkers over the three mile route from Big Lake to Grand Lake Stream Village in a time of 18 minutes flat.

Clayton Socabasin of Indian Township was a distant second and five minutes behind the winner.
