At its annual state conference, held virtually on Nov. 13, the Maine Press Association recognized Machias Valley News Observer for its exceptional work in journalism, presenting it with 6 awards. Its sister paper, the Calais Advertiser, won 14 awards, for a total of 20 awards combined between the only two weekly newspapers in Washington County.
