On a weekend packed with festive events all across Washington County, crowds of people found time to spend in Machias for a daylong celebration of the season. The weekend kicked off Friday, Dec. 1 with the 2nd Annual Hoops for Health tournament, held to benefit the Down East Community Hospital which recently completed an expansion of its emergency department.
