Subsequent to last month’s firing of town clerk, Donna-Jean Metta, and the resignation of the town’s deputy town clerk, the Machiasport Selectboard conducted interviews to fill the vacant positions.

On Wednesday, Aug. 7 Marcia Hayward was sworn in as town clerk, deputy tax collector, registrar of voters, and town treasurer.
