A Downeast winter wonderland

This series of winter photos of Machias and East Machias were taken by Ken Tudor using 35mm slide film. The year was 1976, and Machias shopkeeper Bob Allen made some of Tudor’s work into postcards to sell in honor of the nation’s bicentennial. Allen ran The Rubicon Card & Gift Shop, which occupied the Nash building on Main Street in Machias. Photos courtesy Ken Tudor
