Twice Not so Nice, as Machiasport Deals with 2nd Out-of-State Pleasurecraft Sinking in Two Months
This sailboat broke loose from its mooring on the East Machias side of the Machias River on Dec. 27 and grounded out on Featherbed Island in waters on the Machiasport side of the river. A giant 300-gallon airbag, used to help refloat the boat last weekend, can be seen under the sailboat’s bow. The boat’s owner was living inside the unheated sailboat when it broke loose from its mooring. (David Cale photo)
