Reflections on the Life and Times of ‘Pastor Bill’ Holmes
Pastor William “Bill” Holmes went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 23, after a years-long illness. Holmes pastored Larrabee Baptist Church in Machiasport for 41 years, served as a selectman in the Town of Machiasport, and was inducted into the Washington Academy Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. He also received the school’s Distinguished Educator Award. Holmes leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Judy, three children — David, Doug, and Julie — and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service honoring Pastor Bill was held at Larrabee Baptist Church on June 28. (Paul Sylvain photo)
