Robert John “Bob” Simon Machias

Robert John “Bob” Simon, 84, of Machias peacefully passed away on April 5, 2018, at EMMC, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on August 28, 1933 in Buffalo, New York  He was the son of the late Ross & Florence Simon.

Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950, proudly serving his country until his retirement in 1970.  He then owned and operated Simon Electric in Machias for over 30 years.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Davis Simon, two daughters Tracie Brennan of New Jersey and Kelly (Larry) Davis of Machias.  He has five grandchildren Lukas (Megan) Johnson, Logan (Ryan) Richardson, Natalie Bowden, Mackenzie Brennan, and Justin Davis, three beautiful great grand-daughters Bristol Richardson, Mia & Kady Johnson, brother-in-law Wilder “Bobby” Davis and a sister-in-law Julia Nault and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters, and a brother-in-law Wayne Davis.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to Machias Valley Baptist Church or Sarah’s House, Holden, Maine.
